Dr. Farag is the inventor of DiBase™, a “Dynamic Paradigm” for digital transformation empowering businesses and governments to customize complex problems into adaptive solutions. Dr. Farag was a co-founder of Justa Inc., an information infrastructure company, gaining major clients in health care and financial industry, later it was acquired by Wallaware Inc. Dr. Farag was also formerly a Director at Perot Systems, business architect strategy group, where he advised global Fortune 100 companies on strategies for value optimization and process re-engineering to improve productivity while increasing revenue, during which time PerotSystems (Dell) went public. Prior to PerotSystems, Dr. Farag was a turn-around agent at iCube spinning defunct IT projects successfully into production via his business acumen. He joined International Integration Inc (iCube) as a start-up, grew more than 10x in size and revenue exiting with an IPO, later acquired by Razorfish Inc.
He also served as an advisor to several venture capital firms, such as Warburg Pincus, conducting investment due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, evaluating technologies and developing winning business models. Similarly, he mentors technology startups as an advisor to IBM Global SmartCamp, MIT enterprise forum (MITEF), and The Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC). Dr. Farag was invited to give talks at the MIT Industrial Liaison Program on Cyber Security. He holds a US patent in managing dynamic contextual-information which delivers varied capabilities like personalizing business solutions. Wafik is frequently called upon by government organizations as a domain expert. As part of a White House leadership circle for a US presidential initiative “Global Innovation in Science and Technology” (GIST) he advised on acceleration and commercialization of start-ups; he also reviews grants for the National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Farag received his M.S.E. in Civil Engineering, in addition to selected finance, accounting, and operation course work from an M.B.A. program as well as an M.S.E. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
